TRANSFER TO TIMARU
PASTOR WADE’S APPOINTMENT
Pastor John H. Wade, minister of the Seventh-day Adventist Church in Cumberland street, Dunedin, has accepted an appointment to the Timaru Adventist Church. Pastor and Mrs Wade and their three children expect to leave Dunedin early next week. Pastor Wade came to Dunedin in 1947 from the Invercargill church where he had ministered for three years. He organised the Dunedin Advent Youth Club and has fostered its development. He has also been a member of the Executive Committee of the South New Zealand
Conference of Seventh-day Adventists and was one of eight South Island delegates who attended a special session of the Australasian Union Conference of the church held in Australia last December. At the recent camp meeting and session in Christchurch, Pastor Wade was chairman of the Reception Committee. Members of the Cumberland Street Church bade farewell to Pastor and Mrs Wade at a social evening. The senior elder of the church, Mr A. N. Thomson, speaking on behalf of the Church board and the congregation, expressed appreciation of his ministry and made him a presentation. Both Pastor and Mrs Wade were also the guests of honour at an Advent Social Club tea, when gifts from the young people were presented.
