A request was received at the monthly meeting of the North Otago Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals from the Dunedin branch asking that the country inspector should look into two complaints in respect to unfed stock being consigned to Burnside for sale. The president, Mr H. Hay, pointed out that during the recent dry spell farmers had been placed in a difficult position. Inspector Flett v/as asked to investigate the complaint. It was decided to forward a letter of congratulation to Mr R. H. James, Palmerston North, on being appointed chief inspector for New Zealand.
