Water Restrictions To Remain at Port

In spite of the recent heavy rain, the level of the water in the Port Chalmers reservoir is still seven feet below normal, and the restrictions imposed will remain in force in the meantime. It was reported late last night that there were 5,500,000 gallons of water in the reservoir, but its storage capacity is 10,000,000 gallons. Borough officials emphasised that there was still a need for the greatest care in the use of water.
