The monthly meeting of the committee of the Otago A. and P. Society was held on Thursdav afterntoon, and was attended by Messrs W. H. Elliott., W. S. Thomson. J - Fox, J. Allison. A. C. Begg, W. A. Yardley, J. B. Blair. J. S. Blackie. J. Young, P R.‘ Clarke. J. R. Faiibaim, ,T. Hellyer. S. P. Cameron. 11. A. Newnll, J. F. Aubrey, and C. T. McCallum. Tbe president, Mr E M. North, was in the chair.
Accounts amounting to £915 12s 6d were passed for payment. It was noted that the bank balance was in credit by £702 Is 2d, and would remain in credit at the close of the financial year at the end of the month. A report on the Burnside ram fair was received, in which it was stated that the fair had been a success, with sufficient entries to cover the demand. Twentyeight rams had been rejected as not up to the required standard, and the quality of rams offered for sale had been much improved. One of the stud Romnevs had realised 140gns. It was decided to invite the Prime Minister or the Minister of Agriculture to open the Winter Show on June 3.
