This insect is the larvae of a small beetle-shaped insect known as dermestes. It is very difficult to eradicate the pest. Although not a remedy, napthaline is an excellent preventive. The simplest course to adopt is to remove all dust and fluff from the crevices, and then spray the room, and any clothing and carpets in xt with Flit. Carpet weevils are especially destructive in their attacks on woollen goods.
