CANNED WHALEMEAT

SHIPMENT IN BRITAIN FROM ANTARCTIC Rec. 9 p.m. LONDON, Mar. 25. The refrigerated steamship, Ketos, has arrived in Tyne carrying 1000 tons uncanned frozen whalemeat and large quantities of canned whalemeat tinned on board the ship which accompanied the British whaling fleet to the Antarctic. This is the first time that British whaling organisations have employed a floating canning factory to tin part of their catch on the whaling grounds. Freshly-tinned whalemeat is said to be indistinguishable from canned beef.
