Kakanui Holds Best Prospects For Week-end
The Kakanul River holds the brightest, prospects for week-end anglers, as this is the only river that is in good fishing order. The Wattaki Is still high and very cloudy, and it is doubtful whether it wiU be sufficiently clear even for trout fishing. Salmon fishing is out of the question, but before the river rose last week several salmon, varying in weight up to 161 b, were taken. The Ahuriri is cloudy and it Is doubtful whether anglers will meet with much success at this river. The Omarama Creek and the Hakataramea River are in fair order, the Hakataramea being low and clear.
