AUCKLAND’S LEADING TWO-YEAR-OLDS TO MEET AT AWAPUNI
Special to the Daily Times AUCKLAND. Mar. 24. Auckland’s leading two-year-olds. Gold Script and Tudor Prince, have been galloping brilliantly at Takanini and great interest is being focused on their meeting in the Manawatu Sires Produce Stakes at Awapuni on April 2. Gold Script galloped six furlongs this mornihg in lmin 14sec, easily beating the speedy Vice Chancellor, who is expected to race well in the hack class at Ellerslie on Saturday. Tudor Prince did five furlongs effortlessly with Sleepy Jane in lmin 9sec. The horses are to travel together by train to Awapuni to-morrow. Opinions are divided as to which is the better. Both are very brilliant with Gold Script perhaps the possessor of slightly the more early speed.
