DUNEDIN FRENCH CLUB

The first social evening of the French Club’s year was held on Monday in the Pioneer Women’s Memorial Hall, tho programme presented being of a bright and varied nature. The president. Madame Bellugue, welcomed the new members, and Misses P. and E. Nieper played two piano duets. Other items were piano-accordeon solos by Mr H Fleury, a humorous monologue by Madame Bellugue, and a discussion on university life in Paris between Professor Silver and M. Vanderwoerth, a Paris student who has worked his passage round the world as far as New Zealand, partly with a view to gaining experience and partly with the intention of earning enough money to continue hisstudies in Paris.
