APPEAL FOR CORSO

Street Day Collection Tile Oamaru CORSO Committee will hold a street day to-morrow for CORSO funds. This committee, with the Rev. W. E. D. Davies as chairman, has recently been formed in Oamaru by a number of citizens who felt that something should be done to identify their town with New Zealand’s work of relief and reconstruction in countries ravaged by war and economic want. Although individuals and groups in Oamaru have helped generously in the past the present appeal will be the first community effort. The degree to which CORSO can meet the requests for special assistance which it receives from many quarters is naturally dependent on the support given by the New Zealand public. Appeals held recently in other centres have shown that the public approves of the work being done, and it is hoped that the citizens of Oamaru will generously support tomorrow’s street appeal and make a worthwhile contribution to the maintenance and development of New Zealand’s relief work overseas.
