REMITS CONSIDERED
TUBERCULOSIS ASSOCIATION Remits from the Otago Tuberculosis Association to the Dominion Conference of Tuberculosis Associations to be held in Wellington next week were discussed by the executive of the association last night. Mr G. A. Russell was in the chair. The remits were:— “ That the conference make representations to the Government to provide a suitable library service for chest hospitals and sanatoria, and to make inquiries as to the possibility of establishing educational courses in the institutions along the lines of the AEWS and ERS courses used by the army during the war.” " That representations be made to the Government to make available to extuberculosis patients the facilities provided by the rehabilitation training centres.” Mr G. A Russell and Mrs C. O. Mathias were appointed delegates to the conference. The Employment and Rehabilitation Committee advised that two ex-patients had been found suitable positions, and there was one further to be placed. Ten cases of applications for assistance were dealt with. The formation of a branch at Alexandra was considered, and It was decided to confer with the Rotary organisation. A canvasser was appointed to extend association membership.
