ST. BATHANS
Sir, —“Aqua’s ” reply to " Spellbound ” was uncalled-for criticism. Many visitors from all parts of New Zealand and from overseas have, for various reasons, had occasion to visit St. Bathans and all have been charmed with the singular beauty of the “ Blue Lake.” * Admittedly, in places the cliffs are precipitous, but there are large notices telling people to keep away from the edge. Who is going to topple over, therefore? If "Aqua “ is as fond of water as his name suggests he is the only person likely to fail in. There is no danger near the “ Blue Lake ” of St. Bathans if you exercise common sense.
The remarks about the gentleman in charge of St. Bathans Riding are also unnecessary. As an old resident of St. Bathans he, as well as " Spellbound,” and all who admire picturesque beauty, no doubt appreciates the unique scenery.—l am, etc.. Mary C. Enright.
