CONSCRIPTION OPPOSED
ASRS BIENNIAL CONFERENCE PA WELLINGTON, Feb. 21. Opposition to peace-time military conscription was declared in a resolution adopted by the biennial conference of the Amalgamated Society of Railway Servants, now sitting in WelThis resolution will be forwarded to the annual conferences of the New Zealand Labour Party and the New Zealand Federation of Labour. The conference resolved to support the proposal for the application to the Arbitration Court for an increase of Is an hour in wage rates. This resolution will be forwarded to the Federation of Labour. The biennial conference of the ASRS is the ruling body of the society. Its meeting is presided over by Mr J. A. Barton, national president. Fifteen delegates are attending, representing 15,000 members.
