MEETING OF DOMAIN BOARD The question of future improvements at the Clyde motor camp and Recreation Ground was considered at the meeting of the Clyde Domain Board, and it was decided to go further into the matter of providing more concrete fireplaces around the ground and electric facilities in the motor camp building. The football pavilion will also be repaired and roughcast as soon as labour becomes availwas agreed to erect notice boards near each end of the town drawing the attention of motorists to the motor camp. Those present were—Messrs J. L, Davidson. E. C. Wood. E. A. Grant. J. R. Ross C. J. Davidson. L. R. Williams and F. E. W. Berry. The chairman, Mr J. L. Davidson, extended a welcome to Mr Berry as a newly-elected member of the A request from the Clyde Combined Sports Club that an application be made for a £ for £ Government subsidy towards the cost of conveniences erected recently for the Sports Club at a cost of £169 18 s and for a similar subsidy in respect of the two shower rooms added to the motor camp building, costing £lO5, were approved. ’ ... The payment of accounts totalling £lls 16s 9d was approved, and further accounts totalling £9 7s 5d were passed for payment. BOWLING SHIELD TO CROMWELL By losing one of the three games in the match against Bannockburn on Saturday. Arrow lost their chance of winning the shield competition, which leaves Cromwell the winners with 63 3-7 points, while Alexandra and Arrow are second equal with 60 points each. HEAVY RAIN Following a strong gale on Saturday morning, rain commenced and showers continued throughout the day, developing into a downpour later in the evening, over an inch and a-half being registered, with a good coating of snow on both the Old Man and Dunstan Mountains. Sunday was cold all day, with further rain threatening. There were a number of washouts on the roads, and fruitgrowers with late apricot crops suffered further losses.
