CONTAINER CHARGES
DISCUSSION BY RETAILERS « STOP-BUYING ” MEETING PA WELLINGTON. Feb. 2. Wellington’s produce markets were quiet this morning, the fruit and vegetable retailers holding for three hours and a-half what was described as a “ stop-buying ” meeting to discuss container charges. The secretary of the Retailers’ Association, Mr E. Chesney, in'reply to an inquiry, said that no motion was put forward involving a boycott. He added that his executive had been igiven power to consult and act in concert with the Dominion Fruit Retailers’ Federation and associations in other centres. . '
