Vice-Regal The Governor-General, Sir Bernard Freyberg, V-C., accompanied by Lady Freyberg, returned by flying boat from Sydney on Saturday after an absence of a little over a month. They left for Wellington last night. A recent arrival on the Ceramic from England was Lieutenant A- G. Tait, RN. whose home is in Timaru. Lieutenant Tait, who is aged 27, will join the staff of the Governor-General, Sir Bernard Freyberg, as a naval aide. He won the D.S.C. while a war-time submarine officer. • _ Lieutenant Commander F. St. P. Woodhouse, RN, who has been loaned to the Royal New Zealand Navy for three years, arrived by the Ceramic from Liverpool. He will be on' the staff of the commodore in Wellington. He was in the Leander in the Pacific during the war when she was hit by a torpedo.
