Over 11,000 Boy Scouts will converge on Melbourne from all parts of the Pacific within the next 12 days for the Pan-Pacific Jamboree from December 29 to January 9* The United Kingdom representative will be the Chief Scout, Lord Rowallan, who is flying to Australia. Other parties will come from 40 countries, including Pakistan, Hongkong, Malaya, the Philippines, Fiji, Nauru, South Africa, Canada, the United States, and New Zealand, Some are coming from Tasmania in a tank-landing snip lent by the Royal Australian Navy.
