USE OF LAND-BASED PLANES Amplifying the statement he made in Dunedin on Thursday on the future of trans-Tasman air services, the Minister of Civil Aviation, Mr Jones, told the Daily Times yesterday that he would not like it thought that he considered land-based planes unsuitable for Tasman crossings. He added that Tasman Empire Airways had chartered six DC 6’s for 1 trans-Tasman flights, and a DC 6 oper- ■ ated by British Commonwealth Pacific lAir Lines had already crossed the Tasman in fast time.
