Highland Fling May Appear At Perth Meeting

Rec. 9 p.m. PERTH, Nov. 18. Overtures will"be made to the connections of the New Zealand pacer, Highland Fling, to appear in Perth. The Western Australian Trotting Association plans to induce leading performers at the interdominion championships, to be held at Adelaide in February, to come to Perth at the end of the carnival series. The president of the association, Mr j P, Stratton, said Highland Fling would probably prove the greatest drawcard in the history of State trotting. Lila’s Walla, probably one of the best horses ever to race in Perth and certainly one of the gamest, may be sent to New Zealand for stud duty. His owner, Mr W. P. Nevard, disclosed that he received an attractive offer from New Zealand, Lila’s Walla is a brown stallion, aged 32, by Walla Walla from Lila Rock. He has won 16 races for £6950 in stakes.
