KRUSKOPF BOWLS WELL L. D. Smith, the Albion-Y.M.C.A. captain, won the toss and sent his side in to bat against Dunedin on a softish wicket at Logan Park, which dried out well. Four wickets fell with only 49 runs showing, and Smith, compelled to play a defensive game, took two hours to make 42 runs. His partnership with E. Paul, who made 16, was a valuable one, however, and prevented the side from collapsing altogether. R. H. Robinson, going in late, put together a score of 18, but the side was dismissed for 125, largely as the result of the devastating bowling of the left-hand medium-pace bowler, E. Kruskopf, who finished with the remarkable figures' of six wickets for 23 runs, all of his victims being clean bowled. Dunedin replied with 120 for the loss of five wickets to put itself in a very strong position for tne second day. J. D. O’Sullivan batted very solidly for 53. Ram interrupted play for 20 minutes near the end of the day. Albion-Y.M.C.A. First Innings L. Watson, b Algie 14 E. Watson, b Kruskopf 2 T. Birch, c Wedlake, b Algie .. .. .. 25 B.
