EIGHT HORSES SCRATCHED Rec. 7 p.m. MELBOURNE, Oct. 31. As a protective measure, eight horses have been scratched in the Melbourne Cup. reducing the field to the safety limit of 35. Tlie scratched horses are: Master Dash, Gayness. Kingmeng. Sir Fellowship, Phoibos, Beau Juste, Balerdale, and Hoyle.
