BALCLUTHA STOCK SALE At the fortnightly sale held on Friday, small yardings of cattle, 264 fat sheep and 107 store sheep were penned. The sale for fat sheep was a dragging one and prices were lower by 4s to 5s a head. The small entry of store sheep met a ready sale, the prices realised being fully up to late rates. Fat cattle were poorly represented, with only medium quality. Store cattle commanded good attention, anti the 100 head yarded realised values firmer on late rates by 5s to 10s a head Quotations: — Fat Sheep.—Medium woolly wethers, 50s; prime shorn wethers, 68s; light shorn wethers, 495; prime woolly ewes, 455; medium woolly ewes, 425; light and unfinished woolly ewes, 365; prime shorn ewes, 40s to 42s 6d; medium shorn ewes, 35s to 38s; light shorn ewes, 30s to 34s 6d. Store Sheep.—Well-grown, good-condi-tioned shorn two-tooth wethers, 41s; medium m.s. shorn hoggets, 355; f. and f. mouth ewes, with lambs at foot, 27s 3d. Fat Cattle.—Light fat steers, £l6; light fat heifers, £l2. Store Cattle.—Light-conditioned three-year-old steers, £l3 ss; well-bred two-year-old steers, £l2 17s 6d to £ls 2s 6d; well-bred two-year-old heifers. £lO to £l2 17s 6d; yearling steers, £9 7s 6d; yearling heifers, £6 5s to £7 10s.
