When In Difficulties Ring Mr P. G. Connolly!
N.Z.P.A. Special Correspondent Rec. 8 p.m. LONDON, Oct. 28. When Mr P. G. Connolly, thf leader of the New Zealand delegation to the Commonwealth Parliamentary Conference met the King and Queen at a sherry party given by their Majesties to receive delegates to the Parliamentary Conference and the staff and advisers attending the Commonwealth Conference, he told their Majesties that he was looking forward to seeing them next in his own electorate of Dunedin Central. “If anyone in Dunedin Central runs into difficulties,” said Mr Connolly, “they get into touch with me and I hope your Majesties will do the same.” “ You must leave us * your telephone number Mr Connolly,” said the Queen, smiling. Queen Mary, who also attended the party, spent several minutes talking to the only woman among the New Zealand guests, Miss Mary Weybourne, of Wellington, who is a member of Mr Fraser’s secretarial staff. Queen Mary, recalling her visit to New Zealand in 1901 as the Duches> of Cornwall and York, said to Miss Weybourne with a smile: “ I am quite sure that was well before your time.” Other New Zealand guests who attended the party were the Parliamentary Conference delegates, Mr C.
