Cambridgeshire Stakes To Sterope
LONDON, Oct. 27. The Cambridgeshire Stakes resulted; Sterope 1. Royal Tara 2, Impeccable and Patchouly' (dead heat) 3. A protest against the winner was dismissed. A half-length and two lengths separated the placed horses. Time, lmin 54 2-ssec. Jock Carson. 21-year-old jockey, who was to have ridden Brink in the Cambridgeshire, was not allowed to ride in the race because he held a sweepstake ticket on Wisley, one of the other competitors The ticket would have been worth about £IO,OOO had Wisley won the race. A woman who linked the Cambridgeshire winner, Sterope, with the Cesarewitch winner, Woodburn, in a double collected £6OOO for an outlay of £6. Sterope has not been out of a place in 14 races.
