PLUNKET SOCIETY

The monthly meeting of the committee of the Dunedin branch of the Plunket Society was held last Thursday, Mrs L. F. Cleghorn being in the chair. The final result of Daffodil Day again showed a record collection. In spite of the stormy weather conditions, the sum of approximately £1940 was received. The president expressed her gratitude tp all those whose generosity had helped to make this appeal such a success. The matron of the Truby King Harris Hospital reported that during September 12 mothers and 28 babies were admitted and 9 mothers and 21 babies were discharged. The Karitane buxeau secretary reported that during September there were 23 new applications for Karitane nurses and 24 remained on the books from previous months. Fifteen cases were booked through the bureau.
