Banshee Will Not Start at Geraldine

Banshee lost some skin from one of her legs through contact with a trestle, while working at Riccarton on Tuesday. The Injuries were not serious, and It was intended to start her in the Geraldine Cup When taken out this morning, however, she showed signs of stiffness in the leg. and it was decided not to send her to Orari to-morrow. The incident is not likely to check her work for more than a day or two and she should be ready for the Banks Peninsula and North Canterbury meetings at the Labour Day weekend. Wide Range, who has not had a race since May, when he was a winner at Ashburton, Is again hitting out freely in his work. He is booked to resume racing at the Banks Peninsula meeting next week, and if he trains on he may win more than one good stake this season-
