Strong Fields At Ellerslie To-day
Special to the Dally Times AUCKLAND, Oct. 15.
Strong fields are engaged on the concluding day of the Auckland Racing Club’s spring meeting at Ellerslie to-morrow. It is practically certain that the Hobson Handle.'/} will have to be run in two divisions, and provision has also been made for divisions in the principal event, the Spring Handicap, the Normanby Handicap and the Musket Stakes. The weather has been fine to-day, and the forecast is for scattered showers and fair. Unless there is rain, the going should be good, with plenty of spring. The favourites may include: — 11.0: Hobson Handicap.—First division: Ozami, Lachatrey, Regal Gold. Second division: Vice Chancellor, Pakistan, Lady’s Bridge. 11.50: Manukau Hurdles.—Duncan. Our Gold, Master Ted.
12.35: Epsom Handicap. Regality, Sleepy Fox, Flowerbum. 1.20: Spring Handicap.—First division: Wonder Boy, Cowper, Ascot Lad. Second division: Foxwyn, Silver Lighting, Artificer.
2.10: Onehunga Steeplechase.—Murphy, Haereatu, Tracer. 2.55: Musket Stakes.—First division: Gay Cushla. Sir Tavia, Silver Birch. Second division: El Salto. Maunga Reka, Stanfred.
3.45: Normanby Handicap. First division: Kyrat, Beau Astaire, Star Dink. Second division: Jon Rosa, Silver Gull. Beau Pari.
4.30: Liverpool Handicap.—l\vo Jima, Prince Chat, Regal Praise.
