WAIAREKA Special to the Daily Times OAMARU, Aug. 17. There were medium yardings in all sections of to-day’s Waiarejca sale. Prices for the best sorts of fat cattle were firm to £1 better on late rates and prices for other sorts were firm., Prices for fat sheep were also firm an,d there was a good demand for all classes of store sheep. Quotations : Fat Cattle.—Bullocks: Prime heavy made £33 10s to £36; prime, £26 5s to £3l; medium, £23 to £25 15s; light, £l6 15s to £22 10s. Heifers: Prime made £2l to £22 10s; light, £l2 10s to £l3 ss. Fat cows made £l2 to £l6. Fat Sheep.—Wethers: Prime heavy made 80s to 83s; prime, 62s to 71s; medium, 58s to 61s; light, 53s to 55s 6d; light and unfinished, 44s to 48s 6d. Prime shorn wethers made 50s to 58s; medium shorn, 46s to 495. Prime hoggets made 57s 6d, shorn hoggets, 39s to 41s. Ewes: Prime fat made 32s to 365; medium, 27s to 30s; light, 22s 6d to 28s. Store Sheep.—A pen of Romney cross ewe hoggets made 555, a pen of Corriedale cross ewe hoggets made 37s 9d to 475; shorn wether hoggets made 37s 3d. Store Cattle. —A pen of two-year steers made £l2 12s 6d, a pen of yearling Shorthorn'Cattle £lO ss, a pen of mixed sex calves £6, a pen of two-year-old heifers £7 ss, a pen of Shorthorn cross calves £5 15s to £7 15s. Dairy heifers made £7 10s to £lO 10s.
