COST OF BED LINEN
Sir—You report in Saturday’s Daily Time’s a statement by a .merchant concerning sheets. As one of the interested public, and a linen importer } r feel that before I could agree with the statement made by your informant, one or two points should be made quite clear Your informant was not very clear whether it was linen or cotton he was offered. Also, taking into account the 25 per cent, exchange rate, and foreign, duty rates, I fail to see how he could, reconcile his figures with the above duty and tariffs. Could you get your informant to oblige and let the public Judge for themselves?—l ami etc., .. Alexander Robb, Ltd., E. A. Robb, director.
[Our article referred to sheets made from Russian.cotton by the Poles. Genuine linen was not mentioned. The price quoted was taking into consideration the 25 per. cent, exchange, plus foreign duty, freight, insurance aqd oftier charges, our informant says.—Ed., O.D.T.j
