SKI JUMPING CHAMPIONSHIPS CONDITIONS NOT SUITABLE p.A. INVERCARGILL, Aug. 17. The weather was fine in Queenstown to-day after heavy rain which started yesterday afternoon and lasted into the early hours of this morning. Although it was intended to hold the ski jumping championship at Coronet Peak to-day, snow conditions on the higher slopes were such that the event was held over. It will probably be run with the langlauf on Thursday. There will not be any ski-ing tomorrow as the day has been set down for a steamer excursion up Lake Wakatipu. It is expected that the championships will be concluded on Thursday. The Wigley Cup competition is to be held during the week-end and will be followed by the University championships.
