AUCKLAND WINS EASILY

MAORI TOURISTS OUTCLASSED P.A. AUCKLAND, Aug. 11. By scoring seven tries, six converted, to a penalty goal, Auckland outclassed the Maori Rugby touring team at Eden Park to-day by 33 points to 3. Weather conditions were ideal, and there was a crowd estimated at 14,000. The all-round team play of Auckland proved too good for the Maoris, who looked a tired team after their arrival from their- Fijian tour yesterday. The tourists failed to combine effectively at any stage, and made many errors through wild and m-pass-ing when the ball should have been passed out. Auckland had the larger share of the ball from the scrums, line outs, and rucks, but the Maoris had plenty of chances, which they failed to turn to advantage. Tries for Auckland were scored by Dovell, McLean, Boggs (2), Allen, McHugh, and Christian. Scott converted six. Kenny kicked the penalty goal for the Maoris.
