PROSE AWARD
HUBERT CHURCH MEMORIAL . PRIZE P.A. WELLINGTON, Aug. 11. The Hubert Church memorial prize for New Zealand prose has been awarded to Miss Lillian G. Keys, of Wellington, for her biography of Thomas Arnold. This was announced by the adjudicators, Professor von Zedlitz and Dr Guy H. Scholefield, at a meeting of the executive of P.E.N. (New Zealand centre). The executive conferred the honour of life membership upon Miss Jane Mander, the Auckland author, who is also a foundation member of P.E.N.
