KEEN COMPETITION
MINIATURE RIFLE SHOOTING OTAGO CHAMPIONSHIPS The Otago Miniature Rifle Centennial Shoot commenced last night in the Garrison Hall. Over 70 of the 300 competitors entered completed the first of their three rounds. The competition will be continued tonight and to-morrow night, and on Saturday the finals of all grades will be held, prior to the South Island Interprovincial Teams’ Championship. This is for teams of 10 men. and entries have been received from as far afield as Geraldine and Invercargill. Otago, which won the shield at Gore last year, has been shooting well in recent matches, scoring 793 out of a possible 800 against Southland last week Shooters who scored possibles of 80 last night were:—E B. White, W. Burt, J. Greenway, G. F. Gosney, H. Wills (2), Mrs Matheson, A. Mann, E. Wills, R. Graham itnd F. Mills.
