“THE OUTLAW”

Sir,—The suggestion of a correspondent that the black collie dog should be caught by setting rabbit traps is a dastardly one, and one which is being widely resented. This dog is lost and homesick, and is deserving of our utmost sympathy. Some of us are doing our best to gain the confidence of this fine animal, but actions such as G. W. M. suggests are the worst possible tactics to employ. Can you visauilse what might happen to a dog if several rabbit traps were set? G. W. M. should try putting his or her hand or foot in a rabbit trap. Shame on him! —I am, etc.. Humanity.
