WOMAN FINED
BOOKMAKING CHARGE p. A . WELLINGTON, July 5. A two-hour search of a Wellington house by detectives on Saturday afternoon resulted in Norma Monkhouse, a married woman, who resided at the house, being prosecuted in the Magistrate’s Court to-day for carrying on business as a book maker. She pleaded guilty and was fined £75. • Chief Detective Compton said in evidence that betting slips and treble sheets had been found in the coal box of the house and amongst dirty clothes upstairs.
