Slight Decrease In Attendances
Although the door takings at the Otago Agricultural and Pastoral Society’s Winter Show yesterday showed a decrease on the figures for the same day last year, the crowds that thronged the halls throughout the day and evening were very large. The takings were: 1948, £ll7l 16s; 1947, £1219 ss. The secretary, Mr R. D. Stewart, said last night that the result was very pleasing. Last year’s figures had been exceptional, but he nevertheless expected that the final total this year would approach the record very closely. The show will end to-morrow night.
