SOUTH OTAGO
Special to the Daily Tiriies MILTON, June 6. Chief interest in the South Otago Rugby competition was in the game between Crescent and Toko seniors, played at Milton. One of the best games seen for many years resulted in a narrow win for Crescent by 17 points to 16. The forwards on both sides played excellent football. Mr C. Quaid, of Dunedin, was the referee. The matches in which the Valley Club were drawn, between Lawrence in the Second Grade and Toko in the Third Grade, were postponed on account of the funeral of one of the Valley Club’s vicepresidents. Crescent has now taken the lead in the Senior Grade competition. Toko suffered its first defeat for two years.
