MEMORIAL SERVICE
27 M.G. BATTALION ASSOCIATION Memories'of the grim days around' Cassino and the Italian campaign in general were recalled by Padre A H. Finlay at a service held by the <wth M G Battalion Association at the Cenotaph in the Queen’s Gardens yesterday afternoon. The “ Last Post and reveille were sounded, the paare gave a short address, and a wreath was laid by the president of the Dunedin branch, Mr J. Gunning. This was the first service to be held lay the association at the Cenotaph, where it would be held annually in the future, said M- Gunning. On, Saturday night members and their partners were present at a highly successful dance held in the Orphans Club Hall, and the service yesterday brought the association’s centennial celebrations to a close.
