Shoeing Without Nails A method of shoeing horses without the use of nails is claimed to be successful in America. The new process is called " plasticising.” and it involves sealing the plate on to the hoof with a plastic glue which, it is claimed, has four times the adhesive power of nails, and will ” take ” to steel, aluminium, or iron. Plasticising shoes takes much less time than nailing, and the removal of a complete set can be done in' a few minutes. During the war considerable progress was made in the production of new types of glues and adhesive agents, particularly for use in aircraft construction, and it is not surprising that new fields are being sought for their use.
