“ Wondering,” Oamaru. —A jury list is compiled before the last day of January each year of all eligible persons in a jury district. Tire jury list is revised at a sitting of justices of the peace, and is then forwarded to the sheriff. The list is in alphabetical order, and starts in numerical sequence. The persons required for jury service are balloted for prior to the Supreme Court sessions. This is done by the sheriff, who ballots from cards containing the numbers only, these numbers corresponding to those on the previous list. For each trial the jurymen summoned are balloted for in court until 12 approved men are empanelled to sit, on the jury. “Crib,” Gore.—(l) There are 24 points in a hand of crib consisting of four 4’s and one 7; (2) in a hand consisting of three s’s, one 4 and a one, there are 12 points; (3) you do not take one for the last card if you make it 15 or 31.
