SMOKE SOCIAL
CAVERSHAM BOWLING CLUB A successful and largely attended smoke social was held on Saturday evening for the purpose of presenting the prizes won in the Caversham Bowling Club’s competition's during the season. Opportunity was also taken to congratulate the club’s champion, Mr A. S. McDougall, winner of the Dunedin Centre's Champion of Champions competitions. The president, Mr D. Mclntosh, was m the chair, and toasts honoured were:— “ Umpires’ Association ” (Mr J. McAllan), responded to by Mr T. R. Crossan; “ Champion of Champions ” (Mr G. Will) responded to by Mr A. S. McDougall: "Dunedin Centre” (Mr E. Thorpe), responded to by Mr Fairmaid, “ Sister Clubs” (Mr A. Melville), responded to by Mr J. Hammond (St. Clair) and Mr W. A. Jenkins (North-East Valley). The prize-winners were:—Champion Singles, A. S. McDougall; Handicap Singles, W. Cousins; Champion Doubles, V. G. Cavanagh and R. Cusack; Handicap Doubles, B. Moore and E. James; Club Rinks, M. S. Hendry, W. McAllan,\J. Leckie and T. R. Crossan.
