NEW SUNDAY SCHOOL
NORTH.EAST VALLEY DISTRICT The new Baptist Sunday School Hall in Uxbridge street, Mount Mera, was opened by the Mayor, Mr D. C. Cameron, on Saturday. _ „ „ The chairman, the Rev. R. G. Bycrof., outlined the growth of the school from a small group of eight, meeting in the home of Mr and Mrs G. T. Wilden, to a school of nearly 60. Thanks were expressed to all who had, by gifts totalling £695, or services, assisted in the erection of the hall, ... . .' . The Mayor, in declaring the building open commended the work being done in the district and stressed the need tor loyalty to the school by the scholars. He also stated that they were spending thenchildhood not far from where he had spent his boyhood days in a similar manner. Greetings were brought from the Otago and Southland Auxiliary by its president, Mr A, W. Paterson, and messages were received from the Baptist Union of New Zealand and from the Roslyn Church.
