Oscillate, winner of the Novice Handicap at Invercargill, is a half-sister to Sir Garnish. A Poor Showing Benbecula tailed the field all the way in the hurdles at Invercargill and made a poor showing. Winners From Wingatui Wingatui stables produced two winners in Lovemorn and Baffling at Invercargill on Saturday, Baffling being at double figure odds. Wonderful Recovery In the steeplechase at Invercargill Irish Wit had a life at the end of a round when his rider made a wonderful recovery, but from then on Irish Wit showed little dash. Apprentice Injured An 18-year-old apprentice jockey, S. G. Devlyn, who suffered a fracture of the vault of the skull, bruising of the brain, and severe concussion when Persian Garden fell during the running of the first division of the Settlers’ Plate at the Whangarei meeting was still unconscious yesterday and his condition is reported to be serious.
