SOCIAL CREDIT

Sir.—l would like to lliank '‘Vigilant” for drawing attention to the report of the Social Credit Association conference and urging people to look it up. because lie senses much danger it seems in Social Credit activities, while confessing he is not interested. As one who was at the conference, I would draw attention to the fact that we are a danger to all forms of Socialism or collective dictatorshins. and uphold the sovereignty of the individual and assert that we have no real freedom until all people have the right, to choose or refuse anything or way of life that is not harmful to their fellows. The resolutions enumerated in the report arc quite conformable with the above philosophy, and the natural rights of individuals and grouns to associate for their own benefit. The New Zealand Constitution Amendment Bill is a grave danger to this spirit of freedom which has been a strong sentiment in cementing our Commonwealth of Nations.—l am, etc.. John Stephens.
