NATIONAL REFERENDUM
FUTURE OF NEWFOUNDLAND CONFEDERATION WITH CANADA ST..JOHNS (Newfoundland), Rec. 8 p.m. Mar. 11. An opportunity for a confederation with Canada was offered the people of Newfoundland to-day, when the contents were disclosed of the official ballot for a national referendum which will decide the colony’s political future The ballot will offer three choices: First, the retention of the present Government by commission; secondly the return of responsible self-govern-ment; thirdly, confederation with Canada.
