REPAIRS COMPLETED
WHALE CHASER TO SAIL RETURN TO ANTARCTICA The whale chaser, Terje 3, will leave Port Chalmers this morning on her return voyage to the Antarctic whaling grounds. Her repairs, which entailed the fitting of a new propeller and propeller shaft, were actually finished on Thursday, but adjustments and a trial run occupied the whole of yesterday. The vessel has been in port a week. Terje 4, the other damaged whale chaser, which entered the Port Chalmers dock immediately after her sister ship had vacated it on Thursday, is also being fitted with a new propeller and propeller shaft. It is hoped so complete her repairs before Tuesday, so that she can leave on that day to rejoin the British whaling fleet, of which she is a member, in the Ross Sea.
