QUARTERDECK A PROSPECT Special to the Daily Times INVERCARGILL, Mar. 5. Rain fell in Invercargill to-day but it soon cleared and the prospects are for fine weather and a firm track for the Invercargill Trotting Club’s summer meeting to-morrow. Three races are to be run in divisions. The feature race on the card is the Southland Three-year-old Stakes, which has drawn an outstanding field of juvenile pacers. In an open race, Quarterdeck, Tutta Bella and Blue Mist will be the favourites. Janet Hall was sent out as an acceptor for the Southland Handicap, but she was not paid up for Dapple Grey was withdrawn and Stray Shot who is also engaged at Timaru, will probably be missing.
