Addressing the jury in a damages case in the Supreme Court in Wellington, Mr Justice Cornish referred to the plaintiff’s allegation that the partial loss of two fingers had seriously interfered with his ability to play the piano-accordion. Whether or not. said his Honor, one considered that the playing of such an instrument was a source of pleasure it would be admitted that the practice was at least a legitimate and harmless one.
