Frances was chopped out at the start of the Philip Laing Handicap, otherwise they left to a good line. She was making up ground in the straight but never looked like getting up. Fought on Well
Deep Harmony is not an every-day horse but he showed no sign of wilting in the hard Finish for the Philip Laing Handicap. Promising Galloper
Jan put up a remarkably good performance to get fourth in the Blundell Handicap as she was badly chopped out at the start. Backed and Beaten
Greyfel carried the confidence of the stable in the Goldfields Handicap but the Siegfried gelding lost his chance by beginning slowly. Should be Improved Thornbridge was well placed for most of the journey in the Otago Handicap and the racing he had at Wingatui should bring him to something like his best. Felt the Weight
Spare Part did not finish on as well as expected in the Otago Handicap and he was feeling his weight a long way from home. Stuck on Well
Gold Song is generally regarded as being purely a sprinter but he went a good race over a mile on Saturday to get third in the Captain Cargill Handicap. Change of Owners
Putechan has been purchased by Mr W. Taiaroa and he showed improved form to finish third for his new owner in the Goldfields Handicap.
A Longer Journey Defendant came with a strong run to get third in the Blundell Handicap and a longer journey would suit her. She is a four-year-old by Defaulter from Peony Rose.
