RANGITIKEI MEETING P.A. PALMERSTON N., Feb. 29. The Rangitikei Racing Club's summer meeting was held in brilliantly fine weather. There was a record attendance, the totalisator handling £42,763 against £30,391 10s last June. After the last race, the Judicial Committee met to consider the improvement in the running of Ella Shields. It was announced later that evidence showed that the horse had been run on its merits in both starts, that it had been backed in the earlier race, and let to run for the stakes in the second.
